EYVOL Associated PartnersWelcome Meeting

The Empowering Youth Volunteers Through Sport in the Mediterranean Region (EYVOL) Project held a virtual meeting to officially welcome the participation of eight new Associated Partners, Plataforma Andaluza del Voluntariado, Fundación Tres Culturas, Proyecto Hombre Sevilla, Comisión Española de Ayuda al Refugiado, Autismo Sevilla, PROEMAID, ESN Sevilla and Fútbol Más, who will support the implementation of the project’s intellectual outputs as well as share their experience and know-how on volunteering activities through sport. 

The meeting was moderated by the International Olympic Truce Centre and Save the Dream. Dr. Costantinos Filis, IOTC Director and Project Leader, initiated the meeting by welcoming the support expressed by the Associated Partners and said “The past two years we have been working constructively to develop and implement innovative educational methods, to train youth volunteers on how to utilize sport in order to promote inter-cultural dialogue, peace and socio-economic development. We trust that your support and contribution to the objectives of EYVOL can be added value for the success of the Project, as well as your organisation”.

Afterwards, Carol Jimenez from Save the Dream delivered a short presentation of EYVOL main objectives and milestones, achieved after two years of implementation of the project, such as the ‘Guide on Good Practices on Volunteering for Social Inclusion’, the ‘Online Training Course on Volunteering for Social Inclusion and the Development of Skills Through Sport (Sport Volunteerism)’, the Deployment of EYVOL Young Volunteers to support the IAAF World Athletics Championships in Doha, Qatar, the First International Conference on Sport Volunteerism in Creteil, France, and the Self-Assessment Skills App. 

Each Associated Partner presented their work on volunteerism in sport and describe the main focus of their actions and how they align with EYVOL objectives. Mr. Jose Viñas from Fundación Sevilla FC highlighted the different areas of collaboration between EYVOL and its Associated Partners. 

The meeting was concluded with a presentation of an overview of the communication tools of the project, mainly EYVOL’s website which collects and displays all relevant information and tools being developed by the project.
