Dear partners and friends,
IOTC is currently participating in the CrosSport initiative, a project funded by the European Union (EU), coordinated by ICSS EUROPE and implemented in partnership with the International Olympic Truce Center (Greece), Fondazione SS Lazio 1900 (Italy), and Fundación Sevilla FC (Spain). The project, which was conceived as an EU Preparatory Action – a tool introduced by the European Union that aims to test new policies, programmes or actions that can be expanded and implemented across the EU, addresses the challenges of current times, aiming to promote sport for the social inclusion of refugees. Kindly find attached a summary of the project, in order to better understand its scope and objectives.
Within the framework of CrosSport, we would like to invite you to participate in the upcoming CLIS (Community Leader for Inclusion through Sport) training programme, which is hosted by the ICSS Europe in collaboration with the Observatory for Sports, Education and Communities (ODEC) of the and the Sports Confederation of Portugal (CSD).
CrosSport training programme aimed at creating the two figures of Community Leaders for Sport Inclusion (CLIS) and Sport for Inclusion Activists (SIA). Its objective is to build the capacities of 40 CLIS in all participating countries (Portugal, Greece, Italy and Spain) through a certified training course, which will count on the participation of the key actors in sport and social inclusion such as the CDP, Portugal’s High Commission for Migration (ACM) and the National Plan for Ethics in Sport (NPES).
The training programme will take place every Friday from the 10th of November to the 26th of January 2024, from 20.00pm to 22:30pm (Greek Time).
Upon completion of the training, participants will receive a certification.
You can find below more information about the CLIS training programme, as well as the link in order to register in advance:
The goal is to implement a customized training programme to train community leaders (with or without a sports background) and sports staff (athletes, coaches, educators, etc.) on using sports practices to implement social inclusion activities. The programme aims to build their capacity and embed these skills, knowledge, and expertise within sports organizations and other committed stakeholders to achieve their organizational objectives.
We look forward to having the opportunity to meet you during the training programme. It would be great to have your presence.
